Intuitive Collage Workshop
11 Hopper St
Thursday 25th June, 6 - 8pm
In this collage workshop guest artist Sarah will be introducing participants to the concept of Intuitive Collage, encouraging them to embrace their intuition, unique creativity and encouraging self- discovery, acceptance and personal empowerment in an inclusive and supportive environment. We will be making collaged cards, similar to that of an oracle card that encourage the maker to express their own unique voice, energy and presence. We will then reflect on our cards in pairs using a series of prompts and return to the group for meaning making, exploration and sharing.
Sarah is a multidisciplinary artist whose artistic exploration invokes an intuitive and responsive way of working with materials in their many forms. Sarah’s work is heavily inspired by dream realms and the unconscious, the shifting forms of nature, emotions and memories, whakapapa, and the pieces we leave behind. These artistic wanderings manifest themselves through ritualistic objects for ceremony or storytelling, intuitive clay sculptures that organically capture the amorphous nature of emotion, through upcycling, sewing, dyeing and screen printing textiles and a photography practice which captures spaces devoid of human presence- yet filled with the silence of memory.
As a creative arts therapist and someone who enjoys facilitating workshops, Sarah weaves a space that allows others to create freely and instinctively in communicating their inner worlds. They encourage people to find their own way within the creative process, exposing the intersection between expression, healing and magic.
A portion of all Generous tier tickets goes towards free monthly Micro Mill workshops for community organisations like the Wellington Women’s House.
