Homemade Tallow Balm

Friday 9th October, 5:30 - 7:30pm
11 Hopper St, entrance on the right side of the building & upstairs

Mo (@moagen) will be joining us for tallow balm making! Together we’ll be making two balms with tallow harvested and rendered by Mo, from sheep at a local farm in Halcombe. One balm will be calendula and kawakawa balm, used to nourish our own skin, and the other will be “dubbin”, a balm used to moisturise leather and keep it supple. Everyone will take home about 40g of each balm! Please BYO jars/tin.

Mo/Imogen is a traditional craftswomen, born and raised in Aotearoa but spreading knowledge about crafts she learned in Norway. Mo believes the answers to many modern problems lie in traditional knowledge and crafts practiced for generations before us. Now she teaches to help more people discover crafts and the delights of working with natural materials between your fingertips.

A portion of all generous tier tickets goes towards free workshops for community organisations like the Wellington Women's House.
