Willow Tension Trays

If you’re keen to kick off or deepen your plant weaving practice, come along to this afternoon of learning how to weave a simple but very useful household object – the willow tension tray! Built on the sturdiness of the willow and the way it holds its weight against itself, this is the perfect place to play and understand the flexibility and strength of this plant, making yourself a simple tray that you can use functionally or decoratively. 

Mo will ground you with stories of the material you will work with and the journey that willow takes to be prepared for workshops, giving you insights and backgrounds into the whole process of weaving these objects. They teach drawing from their background and teachers in the willow weaving communities of the Upper Midwest and Otautahi.
