Art of your Ancestors

11 Hopper Street
This is a three session course - tickets are to attend all three sessions
Wednesday 6 - 8:30pm
July 1st, August 5th, September 2nd

Have you been keen on engaging more with your ancestry in your creative practice? Join our wintertime cohort of creatives from all disciplines to continue your journey as a community! We'll start with grounding ourselves in the kaupapa and our intentions, and then gather each session to reflect and share our progress, barriers, and goals for independent creative projects across 3 sessions. This space is for shared accountability, working through your ideas, and supporting each other joyfully to produce ideas and objects with care on a journey that can be confronting and emotionally challenging.

A sampling of things we will be getting curious about: What does it look like to bring ancestral values/materials/techniques into what I create? How can I process my journey of reflection/healing with these ideas through creative practice?

Note- Mo will be drawing on their experiences with immigration and Eastern European-American ancestry. All experiences are welcome, and while this workshop is rooted in decolonial ideas it is not taught from an indigenous perspective.

All are welcome! If you have any questions around if this space is a good fit for you, email us or dm Mo on Instagram at @anthropocene.folk

A portion of all Generous tier tickets goes towards free monthly Micro Mill workshops for community organisations like the Wellington Women’s House.
