Franken Clothing
Sunday 14th June, 1 - 4pm
Te Aro Zero Waste, 2 Forresters Lane
At this super spooky workshop, we'll chop, sew, and upcycle to create new life! For our clothes!! This is a great opportunity to get an introduction to sewing machines and get some fresh ideas about how to give old clothes a new lease on life. We would love for you to bring your own clothes to operate on. If you don't have any but would still like to learn we will have a few clothes that have been diverted from landfill, thanks to the Tip Shop Wellington.
There are three upcycling styles to choose from with varying levels of difficulty:
Level one: Half and half shirts.
Level two: Tops transformed into dresses, level two and a half: added appliqué for experts.
Level three: Switching sleeves and other intricacies.
A portion of all Generous tier tickets goes towards free monthly Micro Mill workshops for community organisations like the Wellington Women’s House.
