Hand Stitching Hexagon Quilts
Tuesday 15th September, 5:30 - 7:30pm
11 Hopper St
Join guest artist Christine Brimer and learn how to begin a handstitched quilt of hexagons. This method is great for using small pieces of leftover fabric, or sentimental clothing that is no longer wearable. During the workshop you will complete a 7 hexagon quilt piece, a beautiful artifact on it's own, or the beginning of a larger quilt which you can continue to build on. We welcome you to bring your own collection of textiles to stitch with! All materials and tools will be provided.
Christine is an experienced weaver, teacher, and textile artist based in Te Whanganui a Tara. She champions locally produced undyed yarns in her loom weaving work, experimenting with form in an iterative design process.
